The management of the external evacuation service of beneficiaries of the non-contributory regime, for treatment in Portugal, started to be managed, as of July 20, 2018, by the National Center of Social Pensions.

The National Social Pension Center, as part of the external evacuation process, will coordinate the External Evacuation Assistance Offices (GAEE) in Barlavento and Sotavento and will have as its tasks the preparation of travel logistics, the organization of administrative processes and the assumption of the costs inherent in the evacuation process.

The management of the service of external evacuation of beneficiaries of the non-contributory regime for treatment in Portugal, falls under the program "Guarantee of access to Income, Health and Care" managed by the Ministry of Family and Inclusion, together with Ministry of Health and Social Security and the Embassy of Cape Verde in Portugal.
